We like to laugh!
We gather in Cotton Tree Park (at the end of Second Ave beside the BBQ shelter) at Cotton Tree Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast Queensland Australia.
9am Saturdays all year.
We love our laughter class and notice our mood being lighter for the days afterwards
After our laughter group we stay on for a coffee at the BBQ shelter (takeaways available from 3 nearby cafe's)

You will be made most welcome. We do understand that coming along is quite a challenge for many people - it was for most of us!!
People attend for all sorts of reasons - from feeling the need to "lighten up" in life to those with major life challenges to be grappled with.
It is a very new and unfamiliar experience so it is suggested that one session is unsufficient experience to make a valid "call" on wether its right for you - do come several times before making up your mind!! (See the comment by Rodney one of our leaders near the bottom of the page)

Laughter Yoga is a unique concept that anyone can laugh for no reason (no jokes, humour or comedy is needed) you can just fake it 'til you make it! It's a little known scientific fact that your body cannot tell the difference between real & fake laughter and in either case your body responds with positive happy natural chemicals (endorphins).

Laughter Yoga combines laughter exercise with Yoga breathing. The breathing increases the oxygen to the brain & body, thereby increasing your energy & general wellbeing.

A Laughter Yoga session also includes a large element of childlike playfulness and movement using direct eye contact which stimulates spontaneous infectious laughter.

Laughter Yoga is not about the person who can laugh the loudest or funniest its more about finding the spontaneous joy and fun that can bubble up gently, in any case, it will be uniquely yours.

Our Facilitators have been trained by Dr Madan Kataria's (Laughter Yoga Founder) trainers. They each bring their own individual interpretation to their classes.

Philip Millroy
Philip is a trained therapist and public speaker - he is usually the "Public Face" of our group here on the Sunshine Coast. He is sought after as a presenter and speaker at seminars and conferences and training programs. Often referred to as the therapists therapist Philip is a Massage Specialist, Reiki Master, Relationships and Sexuality Coach and truly believes Laughter releases the fascia enough to allow the endorphins to flow in the body creating a relaxed state of being.

Rosalin Primrose
Rosalin is a registered psychologist and mediator with lots of experience in trauma, family law and family transitions. She believes that laughter is the best medicine but when you can't raise a laugh, skillful conversations with a facilitator help to find the way through. Terence Charles
A heart of gold Terence has a wealth of experience and hails from Yandina and has travelled to lead Laughter Yoga in Brisbane's New Farm Park for many years and is kindly joining our leader rotation on a monthly basis
 
Linda Hogg
With 8 years experience as part of various Laughter Yoga Groups  and a recent addition to the Sunshine Laughter Leader team. As a practicing Physiotherapist, she appreciates Laughter Yoga as great exercise, as well as a way to diminish stress and connect with others. Standing in a park, in the sunshine and fresh air, laughing with a group of like-minded souls, is a great way to start a weekend! Her focus is on fun with connection. Rodney Stoddart
Rodney is the creator of the Breakthrough Meditation Program , he believes that lightening up and experiencing our own inner joy is a vital adjunct to whatever "self care" regime we choose. Rodney travels the country taking his work to the people. When he is in the area he is the "stand in" facilitator. Rodney believes in keeping the laughter class "Pacey" with absolute minimum of "talk and explanation" we "just do it" by following his lead. Rodney also created and maintains this website.
